Have you been feeling stressed, overwhelmed or anxious lately? This is where the beautiful Chantelle Rose Flows comes in, helping you navigate these very normal and common emotions with a bunch of tips and tricks on mindfulness and more. Chantelle is a yoga, pilates, barre, reformer and meditation teacher who loves all things mindful movement so you know you’re in safe hands when it comes to getting advice on feeling good from the inside out.
Have A Daily Mindfulness PracticeÂ
This could be anything that resonates or aligns with you but the main idea is incorporating some kind of stillness and self-reflection. Chantelle’s personal favourites are having a morning practice of meditation and breathwork, journalling in the evening to wind down and engaging in mindful movement. Whatever it may be for you, see if you can commit to this practice for a minimum of 10 minutes each day and see how you feel. It really is a gift to be able to give yourself space for stillness and steadiness to ease your mind and calm your body.
Stay Organised
Chantelle is notorious for having several diaries and planners so that everything is organised and she can take her workload into consideration. She says, if possible, put everything onto paper to help relieve any overwhelm or unnecessary stress. Although having everything on our phone is easy and accessible, it can get confusing and increases your daily screen time which isn’t ideal. Using paper, everything’s easily visible and structured and you can cross things off once they’re done which is so satisfying!
Be Mindful Of Your Inner World
Your inner world is a direct reflection of your outer world so take the time to do a little self-audit. This can involve thinking about the following:
- What foods are you consuming?
- How much water are you drinking?
- Are you sleeping enough?
- How much time are you spending on your phone and on social media?
- Are you taking the correct vitamins and minerals for your body and lifestyle?Â
All of these things add up and can play a vital role in how you feel when it comes to managing your stress, overwhelm and anxiety.
Move That Body
Don’t exercise to punish your body instead move to nourish your soul and remove stagnant energy so you feel lighter afterwards. Chantelle finds movement to be a great stress reliever and is definitely something she incorporates into her weekly routine to keep overwhelm, stress and anxiety at bay. She says it’s a time for her to disconnect from the outside and reconnect with herself and her body. Her personal favourites are conscious mindful movement modalities like pilates, yoga, reformer, barre, strength training and walking.Â
Rest
Chantelle says that we live in a very yang-based society which means we’re always on the go! She says that as a female business owner, she often spreads her energy pretty thin at times so it truly becomes a balancing act where she has to keep herself accountable. This is where rest comes in, something we arguably don’t get enough of! Something that helps Chantelle is to schedule at least one self-care activity that calms her nervous system per week, usually on her day off. For her this looks like minimal phone and computer usage all day, going to the beach or connecting with nature, detoxing in an infrared sauna, practising a yoga class or meditation, indulging in art therapy like our paint by number kits or treating herself to a massage. She said to view this as a time to reset and recharge your energy and that whatever is stopping you from doing this can wait, your physical and mental health is more important.
